Our pharmacist, Lindsey Urbatchka has over a decade of experience in specialty pharmacy. As a compounding pharmacist she transforms fatigue, analyzes hormones, gut and thyroid health on a daily basis. Elite care and true passion is a must experience at WPC. Her background includes: hormone replacement therapy, fertility, thyroid, infectious disease, pediatrics, immunology, pain, hair loss, GI health, autoimmune, transplant, oncology, opthalmology, HIV, HCV, Controlled substance addiction rehab.
Lindsey Urbatchka graduated with her doctorate in pharmacy from the University of Kansas in 2008 and has a background in specialty and compounding pharmacy. Simultaneously swimming and getting her doctorate, Lindsey learned about work and life balance. Her specialties and background are extensive; she has lots of personal experience to bring to your plan. As a wife, mother to one toddler, 2 fur kids-Pip and Cookie, and a full time pharmacist, Lindsey understands juggling a full plate.
A lifelong athlete, division I swimmer, she continues to enjoy competing and ranking top of her age group in masters swimming at the national level. Even after 2 shoulder surgeries, 1 back surgery, a double mastectomy and a c-section, Lindsey knows how to help you recover and regain yourself.
Lindsey is a BRCA-1 Previvor- what’s this mean? She has the BRCA-1 mutation and a 87% chance of breast cancer, 45% chance of ovarian cancer. Lindsey underwent a preventative double mastectomy. She can help guide you through genetic testing questions, hormone questions, and fertility questions about passing on genetics.
Being a BRCA-1 mutation carrier, Lindsey did not want to pass along the risk of cancer to her child. Her and her husband chose to under go the entire IVF process, to get their embryos tested for the BRCA-1 mutation amongst, many others. Having worked as a specialty fertility pharmacist, Lindsey knew a lot about what was going on and now having experienced the process, wants to serve as a resource and supporter for all paths of fertility.
After having her son in 2017, Lindsey went back to work and as all of us do, taxed her adrenals. Lack of sleep and rest, working full time, while caring for an infant took its toll. By spring of 2018, she had crashed her adrenals and her immune system. She was constantly fighting infections and just trying to stay awake during the day. She reactivated her mono-virus, aka Epstein Barr. Her doctors didn’t know what to do with her. As a pharmacist, she had access to multiple providers to help her support her body on its way to recover. Although, she got many opinions it was through gut and adrenal support, micronutrient replacement, and hormone replacement therapy, Lindsey was able to regain her old self and health.
This is where the concept for Wellness PharmD Consulting was formed. Everyone hits rock bottom. The question is how do we respond? With proper self care and a team to support you.
As a seeker of health with a balance of indulgence on the side, she believes in that chocolate chip cookie and vacation but overall wellness. When Lindsey is not with her family or in the pool, she can be found at yoga, hiking, traveling.
